The 002 Fund’s mission is simple yet powerful: “to bring pickleball equipment and training to underprivileged children worldwide.”
We are a 501(c)(3) public charity with one simple goal: to empower the younger generation, providing them with a fresh perspective on life, fostering resilience, engaging with exercise, and offering avenues for growth.
Where we’ve been. Where we’re going.
The 002 Fund was founded in September 2023 and we hit the ground running.
Our first trip was to Nairobi, Kenya in October 2023. The visit impacted over 120 orphaned children who now have mobile pickleball courts and equipment available to them anytime they wish to play.
We are headed to São Paulo, Brazil, in May 2024 to introduce pickleball to children in the “favelas” (slums), including Favela Paraisópolis, which houses over 100,000 residents, making it one of the world’s most populated slums.
This year we will also be in four countries in East Africa - Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya. This trip is scheduled for September 2024.
We are also providing financial assistance to the Dream Chasers Pickleball Club in Uganda so they can build permanent pickleball courts for the hundreds of kids who currently play the sport on a daily basis.

Our Founder: Alex Simon
Alex Simon is one of the world’s top pickleball ambassadors.
As a player, he reached the #2 singles ranking in the world (Champions Tour/DUPR) and competed full-time on the PPA and APP Tours where he earned several gold, silver and bronze medals.
As a PPR-certified professional coach, he now coaches some of the world’s top touring pros and has taught all over the United States, as well as Asia and Africa.
